Big cam 350 cummins clean fuel pump how to#
I had a hard time getting the CPL from my cummins dealer the other day, there is only one guy left that knows how to read the old books, not just the computer. How do I get the correct callibration code for this motor? The data plate is missing off engine and fuel pump.

If the truck in question isn't going to work and you guys are going to haul it to the strip, rack it up to 270/280, you'll get plenty of fuel and smoke, but its hard as heck on the cam and cam followers, thats why the big cams came out to be able to take the higher fuel pressures for todays engines. I"m running a 335 pump on a SC 350 CPL 160, but the pump is CPL 69 stock at 205 I believe, ramped up considerably more than that, maybe just too much, now a stock 335 pump is a hopped up pump on a 350 because of the injector calibration, the pump stand is the best way to check rail pressure and set rpm, shimming the governor brings up the rail pressure, but you would be fine at 190 to 210, the button only takes fuel pressure up the scale so far, then the throttle shaft needs to be worked over then the buttons will do the rest. Check point 2 allows 114 to 1 RPM in case you have trouble holding it at 2100 under full load. Scanning over the other codes with 350 hp most are within five PSI of 160 2100. On a stand at 2100 RPM, you were supposed to calibrate it to 160 psi ideally, and that was with a #40 button. It lists the calibration pressure to be between 158 and 170 psi. Code 2921 is for a non-AFC, automotive application, 350 max hp 2100 RPM and a 15% torque rise. There are 28 different calibration codes listed for CPL 160 as an NTC-350, not counting the ones for 160 as a Power Torque 330. I'm putting a fuel pressure guage on this week and want to know if the pump has already been played with because I plan on cranking this motor up but don't want to do too much.
Big cam 350 cummins clean fuel pump serial#
I had all I could do to get that from the local cummins dealer because my data plate is missing but I had the serial number.

I have the factory manual for this engine but it leaves fuel system information out of it. I would like to know what the factory spec is for fuel pressure on my small cam 350 cummins.
